The Wright Brothers

Wright Brothers' 2nd Plane Wright Brothers father was a bishop and newspaper owner. The Wright family travelled a lot. There was five siblings. Older sister and brother then Wilbur and Orville, then Katherine.
Milton Wright brought home a toy helicopter for his kids.
Wilbur Wright was born in Millville, Indiana 1867
Orville Wright was born in Dayton, Ohio 1871.
Orville and Wilbur both dropped out of high school.

Wilbur excelled in school. He had planned on attending Yale University. However, Wilbur had an ice hockey accident, and dropped out.
Orville dropped out of high school. Started a newspaper.
1889, Wilbur and Orville's mother, Susan Wright, died of tuberculosis.
1889, Wilbur and Orvile started their own newspaper called "West Side News". Wilbur was the Editor, and Orville the Publisher.
1892 Wilbur and Orville Wright opened up a bicycle shop. They repaired and designed new bicycles, "The Wright Cycle Company". That is where they met Charles Taylor. He became an employee of their's and would later help them to build an engine for their plane.

A short time later, Wilbur and Orville left for Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, hoping to fulfill their dreaming of building an airplane. There had been other designs, but there model would be the "first in flight".

Wilbur and Orville, at Kitty Hawk, used birds for models and eventually constructed a glider with parts they had to revise. A lot of the part.needed for aviation had not been invented yet.
